CO Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association's Conference KeyNote Speaker

At February’s Colorado Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association Conference, Produce Retailer Magazine Editor Pamela Reimenschneider will be the keynote speaker and will be sharing highlights from several studies — one being the national survey Packers Fresh Trends. She shares an overview of what she will be presenting on February 21st at the Renaissance hotel in Denver.
Reimenschneider: “I’m going to pull about 10 of the most common fruits and vegetables for Colorado — not only for Colorado growers — but also Colorado consumers. We’re going to talk in an interactive way — I’ll be throwing out some questions, throwing out some demographics. I don’t want it to be a plain old Power Point presentation. So we will have a little bit of a quiz show. I’ve got some clickers for questions and answers. That kind of thing is a lot of fun and keeps people engaged. But we are also going to talk about local and organic. Reasons why people buy local versus organic or reasons why people are choosing local produce — which I think is really relevant for the Colorado Grown participants especially in the crowd. I also have some more data points to talk about retail promotions. Those are things that producers can set up with their retailers set up ahead of time. Hopefully try to identify some areas that promotions aren't as common, and some touch points of areas that maybe are a good chance for Colorado growers to set up with their retailers.”
