National Slaughter Cattle Update
This is Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for, Sep. 6th. Cattle still on the mend as prices continue to drop. Let's go to Greg Sanders as he shares the National Slaughter Cattle review with the USDA report.
Sanders "Thank you and good morning everyone, here's the Naitonal Slaughter Cattle Review for Thursday. On Thursday, trading was limited on light demand in the southern plains and the wester corn belt. In Nebraska trading was slow on light to moderate demand. In Colorado trading was moderate with light demand and in the southern plains of Nebraska live sales sold steady at $1.10 and dress sales sold in Nebraska at $1.75 when compared to last reported."
Chicago Dec. Wheat prices closed last week up 4 ½, at 399 ¼. Dec. corn ended the week up 4 ¾, at 328 ¾. Portland prices for soft white wheat of Ordinary Protein for Dec. were up ¼ - 3, ranging from 4-65 to 4-91. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11 ½ % protein, prices for Dec. were up 18 ¼, ranging from 4-98 ¼ to 5-08 ¼. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Dec. were up 5 ½, ranging from 5-86 ½ to 6-01 ½. Dec. Live Cattle were dn $1.92 ½, at 103.37 ½. Nov. Feeder cattle were dn $2.07 ½, at 129.67 ½. Nov. class III milk was up 14 cents at 16-70.
