This is Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for Monday, Aug 8th. Live cattle and feeders starting to find their stride as we chug along through the 3rd QT. Let's go to Greg Sanders to hear more about the National weekly cattle update with the USDA.

Sanders "National Slaughter cattle review for Thursday Aug. 4th, 2016. In Kansas compared to last week, live sales sold $2-$3 higher from $1.18 to $1.19. In the Northern Plains, compared to last week live sales sold $2 ½ higher at $1.20 and dress sales in Nebraska, $1-$3 higher, from $1.87- $1.90. In the Western Corn Belt, compared to last week, live sales sold a $1 higher from $1.17- $1.18."

Chicago Sept. Wheat prices closed Friday up 12 ¾, at 416 ½. Sept. corn ended the week up 3 ½, at 323 ¾. Portland prices for soft white wheat of Ordinary Protein for Aug. ended the day up 6 ¾ to unch, ranging from 4-75 to 4-90. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11 ½ % protein, prices for Aug. were up 6 - 16, ranging from 4-91 ¾ to 5-21 ¾. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Aug. was up 6 ¼ tl 21 ¼, ranging from 5-80 to 6-05. Aug Live Cattle were up $1.35, to finish the week at 117.50. Aug Feeder cattle were up $2.07 ½, to close the Friday at 149.85. Aug. class III milk was up 13 cents, at 17-12.
