From the USDA Market News Office in Greeley here is Heath Dewey with yesterday’s state hay report
Dewey: “Compared to last week, trade light with light demand. In the Northeast Colorado areas premium alfalfa large square trades were $120 delivered. Fair alfalfa large square trades were $106 FOB. Supreme alfalfa small square trades were $245 FBO or $8 per bale. Premium grass small bale trades were $210 per ton FOB or $6 per bale. Large squares of good quality wheat straw traded at $60 delivered. In the southeast Colorado areas premium alfalfa large square trades were $130 FOB. Fair to good alfalfa large square trades were $110 delivered and utility large squares trades were $75 FOB. Premium alfalfa small square trades were $180 FOB or $6 per bale. In the San Luis Valley areas alfalfa large square trades were supreme $145 to $150 FOB, utility $75 to $80 FOB and old crop good alfalfa large squares were $125 FOB. In the Southwest Colorado areas premium small squares of Timothy orchard grass for retail were $300 per ton FOB or $9 per bale and premium small squares of orchard grass were $233 per ton FOB or $7 per bale. In the mountains of Northwest Colorado areas premium grass large squares were $100 FOB, premium small grass squares trades $180 per ton FOB or $5 per bale.”
