The Corn Growers Association is uniting with other groups to highlight the importance of our nation's inland waterways. More than 60 percent of U.S. grain exports are moved by barge, yet the current infrastructure is aging with many of the locks and dams still built in the 1920's and 30's. The group cites that every$1 invested in our inland waterway system returns $10 to our Nation's economy At the Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation conference the topic was Tractor Implement Management that uses sensors that allow implements to take control of repetitive tasks like baling hay. These Multi-brand automation systems creates new challenges for the ag electronics industry. AEF's has developed a Project made up of industry volunteers focused on defining a common interface that will make multi-brand TIM systems work. The team includes more than 30 members from 21 different companies.
