Scholarship Opportunity For Students Rooted in Ag

Syngenta invites eligible university students to apply to its annual Syngenta Agricultural Scholarship program. Syngenta Senior Communications Manager Mary DeMers shares more details
DeMers: “What we have here is a national essay contest. What the students are required to do is write an essay of 750 to 1,000 words and tell us about a person who inspired you to be rooted in agriculture and how their influence motivated you to pursue a degree and ultimately a career in agriculture. Then how will you pay it forward and encourage others to be rooted in agriculture.”
DeMers continues with more information about this scholarship.
DeMers: “We’ll have eight regional winners. There will be two categories — those pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and then a Master’s degree. Then there are four regions. So there will be a total of eight regional winners who will then go on for the national finalists. We will have two national finalists — one undergrad and one grad. The application is open right now. They can find it on our website — syngenta-us.com/scholarships. The deadline is get the essay submitted is May 26th.”
The regional winners will receive $1,000 and two national finalists will receive $6,000 each.
