Tanks of Thanks

Tanks of Thanks. I'm Greg Martin with Washington Ag Today.

CHS is once again sponsoring the Cenex Tanks of Thanks program. CHS spokesperson Akhtar Hussain explains what it is.

HUSSAIN: CHS and Cenex retailers across the country are kicking off the fifth year of the Tanks of Thanks program and since 2012 Cenex has been helping communities recognize people who are making a difference by rewarding them with free fuel and we're proud to announce in the first four years of the program more than 10-thousand people in communities all across the midwest and Pacific Northwest have been awarded free fuel by the Cenex Tanks of Thanks program.

He explains how the program works.

HUSSAIN: We wanted to make the nomination process simple for everybody so they simply go to cenex.com/tanks of thanks where they'll find just a short online form. Once they submit that form their nominee is entered into a pool and every month we draw 100 names at random and those 100 people receive $50 gift cards that they can use at any Cenex location throughout the country.

The program has been very well received.

HUSSAIN: Through the first four years of the program we've seen 17-thousand nominations collected, each one telling an inspiring story of generosity and goodwill. The program is not focused on who does the biggest act of kindness or who does the most grand gesture for their community, it's about celebrating he every day small things that people do to make their communities better.

And that's Washington Ag Today. I'm Greg Martin, thanks for listening on the Ag Information Network of the West.
