I'm Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for Monday December 28th, 2015. Of course the Commodities market was closed last Friday for Christmas and with the New Year closing in on us, let's take this time to look back and see how the markets have done over the year. We saw record setting numbers in the cattle market as we began 2015, but as the summer turned to fall we started to see numbers decline in both cattle and grains.

One year ago Chicago March Wheat was steady at 5-20, currently Chicago March Wheat is holding at 4-86. Last year Chicago Corn was at 3-84, this year we are seeing similar prices down a little at 3-74. 2015 Portland Soft White Wheat was holding steady at 6-45, this year it's right around 4-86. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11.5 % Protein was at 6-47, currently it's around 5-68. DNS Wheat with 14 % Protein prices were up around 8-32 in 2015, this year prices are prices are down around 6-50.

In Jan. 2015 we saw live cattle ranging from $1.50 to $1.60, currently live cattle are between $1.20 & $1.25. Last year Jan. Feeder Cattle were between $1.85 & $1.99, currently Live Cattle are ranging from $1.48 & $1.55.
