Colorado Foundation for Ag Releases New Education Book on iTunes

The Colorado Foundation for Agriculture is responsible for the state’s Ag in Classroom program. They provide resources to teachers across the state about agriculture that teachers can use for their students. Colorado Foundation for Agriculture Director Bette Blinde shares more about the new interactive book that can be found on iTunes for teachers and their classrooms.
Blinde: “The new piece we’ve just published on iTunes is an iPad book called The Corn Farmer’s Story. And what it is a story that gives the background on the importance of corn and then shares the story of a farmer here in Colorado and what he does throughout the year to raise that corn. And it has a lot of interactive features in it — it has some games, some word searches , and some quizing features and the like.”
This is the second interactive book that Colorado Foundation for Ag has released. There are not many state Ag in the Classroom organizations that have made the shift to producing iPad books. Blinde continues
Blinde: “I think we are one of the first to use this technology, but when we go to the reading conventions, and math conventions and science conventions and when we do surveys of the teachers that we provide resources to; they tell us that they are moving to this technology — the iPads and the Galaxy Tabs in their classrooms.”
