Collaborative Water Decisions: Moving from Concept to Action Training
Smith: “It is really to bring the people in who are out in the trenches trying to collaborate regarding water but they really haven’t ever been given formal training nor have they been given any hands-on training on the practicality of how you actually do it. You know we wouldn't think of sending an engineer out into the field to design some sort of construction project without that person having training on how to do it. But all the time we send people out to collaborate without any training. And then when collaboration fails, we wonder why it failed. We think it is important to give people some skills and give them some practice. They are going to have a bunch of opportunities to practice. They will be practicing using issues that are rampant right now in Colorado related to water.”
Water professionals, leaders and stakeholders from Colorado’s public, private and non-profit sectors are encouraged to attend. For more information and to register go to cdrassociates.org and looking for training information.
