Grain Markets Both Sides of Unchanged

I'm Susan Allen with the Market Line Report for August 18th 2015. Grain Markets have been both sides of unchanged Jack Scoville Vice President of Price Futures shares his perspective on this from the Floor of the CME.

Scoville: Wheat is the one market that has been under pressure we see some weaker prices in the world again really kind of hurting that market and some beneficial rains in Australia as well. Winter Wheat harvest is just about finished up the Spring wheat harvest is increasing as conditions out there look pretty good. You will see a little bit of rain in the Northern plains which will delay harvest a bit. Overall price action has been week.

Chicago September Wheat ended Monday down 6 at 500 3/4. September corn ended the day at 363 ½ relatively no change. Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein for September, ended the day at 5.55 12. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11 ½ % protein, prices for August New Crop were mostly 5.60 ¼ down 7 ½ . DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for August were mostly 6-14 down 5 1/2. August live cattle closed yesterday down 55 cents, at 147.90. August Feeder cattle up 37 1/2 cents, at 214.27 September class III milk was unchanged at 16-44.
