PerforMix Breaks Ground on New Plant

Recently PerforMix Nutrition Systems broke ground on a new plant that will be built in Rupert, Idaho. This is a strategically placed fourth plant in allow the company to increase production of its liquid feed supplement. The Southeastern Idaho location works well for providing their product to the region’s dairy industry. PerforMix President Jim Keppen shares why this expansion is important for the company.
Keppen: “It’s probably 50 percent larger than the Nampa plant. It is using all the most current technology as far as the computer systems and how we batch product. But then most importantly,is our proprietary suspension that we do. So we can basically put all vitamins and minerals that a beef and dairy cow needs into liquid. Then they can put that on top of their wet silage wagons or whatever it may be. And one of the big things there is that it mixes better than a dry and also is that it doesn’t shrink in large way. When don’t have the wind blowing when you are driving meal around.”
There will be about 15 new jobs created for the area with this new plant. Keppen says that they hope to have the plant up and running by late January 2016.
