Enough of the Food Gestapo
You know I have just about had it with the Center for Science in the Public Interest, I simply would like to know whose public interest they represent, it certainly isn't mine! I resent their ongoing "food- Gestapo" tactics. Heck, if I want a large order of fatty fries to go it is nobody's business but my own. And for the record, I can do without a warning label on my soft drink can. I find it ridiculous that the Center for Science in the Public Interest is now petitioning the Food and Drug Administration for cigarette-style warnings labels on soda. The center's director, Mr. Michael F. Jacobson recently was quoted in the New York Times as saying that soda pop used to be an occasional treat. Now it is an everyday beverage. His perception, maybe his problem&. but isn't there more pressing things to worry about like our meth problem, breast cancer or child pornography? As a consumer I find Mr. Jacobson's dumbing down labeling tactics offensive. The unsavory component that could stand a warning label is the use of the word "science" in this organizations name.
