A chat with Frank Muir who is the Executive Director of the Idaho Potato Commission about something I didn’t originally think was going to be a hit. Boy was I wrong. “You know what David, that truck has become the star of Idaho. It is now traveling on its third tool or around the country. It has already made its stop at the Kentucky Derby where it saw California Chrome. We were back by popular demand. The truck has been invited, to of all places, Atlantic City for the Miss America pageant parade. It just went to the world famous Fearless Pennsylvania Prom which is positioned by Readers Digest back in 2004 as the most famous prom in America. This year, by invitation, we allowed the big truck to be at the prom parade where the whole city comes out and celebrates it and we have gotten quite a bit of PR pickup from that as well. So we are going to some very iconic places, places that people really didn’t know existed but in those local areas it is big. That is a credit to you, Frank, and I’m not just saying this just to schmooze you but when I first heard about the truck I thought Hmmmm, that is a stretch as a marketing message, (laughter) but I know you are very much involved in the decision to do that. Yes, it has been a home run.
