Beef Counts

Beef Counts

I'm KayDee Gilkey and welcome to Open Range. Here's Greg with today's report.

Thanks KayDee. The Washington Beef Commission's Beef Counts campaign has a great march promotion going according to Rob Noel, Director of Promotions.

NOEL: The Beef Counts campaign this March which is happening at all of the Hagan and Top Food stores, we are telling consumers during the whole month of March that you can buy beef and fight hunger.

Noel explains the Beef Counts program.

NOEL: It is Washington's beef community gathering together to figure out a way to provide nutritious quality beef to local food banks that they in turn can get out to local hungry families.

He says that less than 4% of all food bank donations are high quality protein like beef. You also have the opportunity to donate to the food banks at the cash register. Noel adds that Double R Ranch makes this program possible.

NOEL: They have the packing plant. They have the processes in place where they actually cut and wrap and deliver for free. They feel it's the right thing to do and we think it's awesome that they do that and so yes, it's kind of a win-win for everybody. It's a win-win for the consumer because they can go in, purchase this amazing beef - Double R Ranch choice grade beef - at Hagan and Top Foods, to feed their own family and they know that at the same time they will also be helping provide beef to their neighbors in need.

I'm Greg Martin and that's today's AgriBeef Minute.

Thanks Greg. Don't forget Greg will be back each Wednesday with the AgriBeef Minute. Agri Beef Co - Real Families, Great People, Exceptional Beef. I'm KayDee Gilkey.
