Supervisor Training Filling Up

Supervisor Training Filling Up

Supervisor Training. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report.

Several upcoming supervisor training workshops are quickly filling up. Washington Farm Labor Association is offering this training to teach practical leadership and motivational skills for the agricultural industry. Attendees will be exposed – most for the first time – to essential motivational skills, and they will be shown, urged, and cajoled into using these skills, through practical applications and other role playing techniques. WAFLA's Dan Fazio.

FAZIO: A good crew leader can make or break an operation and most growers will also admit to you that there's a lot of leadership training that needs to be done for these important employees and not a lot that's being done right now.

The Wenatchee session on April 1st is sold out and there are only limited availabilities for the April 2nd Pasco, April 3rd Yakima and April 4th Salem, Oregon. Attendees will discuss leadership and be asked to identify a leadership style that works for them.

FAZIO: This entire class is in Spanish. The class is so fast paced and interactive that we really couldn't do a translated bi-lingual session and we also prepare a course summary for the owner or the HR director. As a bonus we have a lunch keynote speaker each session, an attorney who will explain to the crew leaders what's happening with immigration reform.

Don't miss out on this important training. Get more information at the WAFLA website, WAFLA.org.
