Helping a wounded warrior. Andrew Pike is paralyzed from the waist down after being shot while serving in Iraq. But Andrew loves to hunt and fish and the challenge that confronted him was how did he get a normal wheelchair into the wilderness. Friend and fellow sportsmen Bill Potter with Ketchum based "Higher Ground" came up with an answer...a wheelchair specially designed with all-terrain wheels. " Bill O'Reilly on Fox started to promote this track chair concept and came up with about $14 million. It is admirable. He has the big television presence and is able to pull a soul thing off whereas we are just a little burg in Idaho. However we do have a lot of vets and a lot of people who care. So this is a wheelchair on rubber tracks. I ordered it on the spot. They needed a down payment and we sent them a down payment. Then I found a couple of friends around Ketchum and I said here is what we want to do. They got on board and before we knew it they had raised $20,000. We had to wait for the chair to arrive because the O'Reilly factor made their back order time about six months. The chair got delivered the first week in January and I said wouldn't it be neat if we got Gov. Otter involved in this so a mutual friend hooked me up with his office and before you know it we scheduled a date in the rotunda to present this chair and then we developed a ruse to get Andrew to the capital and surprise him with this whole thing.
