Welcome to Vine to Wine, this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. You see I simply do not drink wine that I don't like. Recently I had the pleasure of sharing a bottle of Washington state Cabernet Franc made by Chandler Reach Vineyards a small winery that has based its reputation upon its estate grown fruit.
Chandler Reach Vineyards has many unique characteristics only one of which is the special piece of property that the estate occupies. The business began as vineyards, selling their fruit to wineries who were making delightful wines and whose winemakers were singing the praises of the quality. Since 2000 they have been making their own wines from their own grapes. The red wines, which are mostly blended, have received many fabulous accolades from the press. Having always been a fan of Cabernet Franc I was eager to try the Parris Reserve Cab Franc. I was taken aback and I will stick my neck out here and say that it is most likely my favorite of all those I have ever had. I was distinctly aware of the Cabernet Franc as a portion of the other blends. This wine is bright and well balanced. The fruit is so bold and expressive that I was delighted. I would highly recommend this wine. You can order the wines by visiting the winery just outside of Benton City in Washington or by visiting the website at chandler reach dot com.
