  Boone and Crockett is going to sponsor a women’s antelope hunt.

The fastest-growing segment in fishing and hunting according to the marketing director of The Boone and Crockett Club is women. And it is because of events that I am going to tell you about that women are increasingly involved in the great outdoors. The Boone and Crockett Club is sponsoring a first of its kind event designed to showcase women in hunting. The Wyoming women’s antelope hunt is set for October at the Ranch at Ucross in northeast Wyoming. It will include hunters of all experience levels, emphasize safe and responsible hunting and provide a platform for mentoring and relationship building among a diverse group of women.

Richelle Keinath Executive Director of the Wyoming Women's Foundation: “ We started this from the ground up having to talk to tons of people regarding where should we hold it, where will  there be permits where we can get enough tags to accommodate 50 women. We can have these mentor – mentee relationships happening in the field so for instance, there will be somebody who is a well seasoned hunter going out with somebody who is brand new added or hasn’t done a lot of hunting. We have fish and game as part of this so they will do a hunter safety course before the event, we have guns that have been loaned by Remington that women can use in their hunt, everybody is going to cite in their guns.”
