Syngenta offers a sweet deal through their sugarbeet scholarship program.
For the fourth year in a row Syngenta will offer students an opportunity to apply for one of five sugarbeet scholarships. The details are simple: Application period runs now through June 14th. Here is Syngenta spokesperson Joe Vaillancourt: “This sweet deal is pretty straight forward - Syngenta is now accepting applications for the Syngenta Sugarbeet Scholarship program through June 14, 2013. Students must be involved in 4-H, FFA and/or the sugarbeet industry, majoring (or intending to major) in an agriculture-related field and a current high school senior OR college freshmen, sophomore or junior. Students must submit an essay for judging and the student with the highest score in each of the five eligible regions will receive $1,500 for their college tuition. The scholarship program, now in its fourth year, helps equip the next generation with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to the advancement of the sugarbeet industry.”
Applicants can complete the application form found at www.SyngentaSugarbeetScholarship.com. As part of the application, they will be asked to describe their involvement in 4-H, FFA and/or the sugarbeet industry. Theysubmit an essay in 700 words or less that answers the following question: What do you see as the biggest challenge to sugarbeet production or the industry in general, and why?
