4-22 IAN Dick Retires

Dick Rush, longtime advocate for agriculture and current State Executive Director (SED) for USDA Farm Service Agency has announced his retirement effective April 30, 2013. The position of USDA Farm Service Agency state director is one of the few positions in Idaho filled through Presidential appointment. Dick said in his letter of resignation to President Obama, “our USDA/FSA programs including loans, disaster assistance, conservation and safety net protection have played a big part in the success of Idaho farmers and ranchers.  Farm income is at an all-time high, exports have set records each of the last four years and the cost that American’s pay for food is at an all-time low.  I am honored to have played a part.” Dick also served as Director of the Idaho Department of Agriculture under Governors Evans and Andrus. Rush said he plans to spend time helping his parents manage the family farm near Moscow, traveling with his wife Nancy and spoiling his six grandkids
