3-27 SS SW Expands
Sportsman’s Warehouse Purchases Multiple Wholesale Sports Outdoor Outfitters Locations throughout the Northwest United States
Sportsman’s Warehouse has acquired 10 Wholesale Sports Outdoor Outfitters locations in Oregon, Washington and Montana. The stores, which were acquired from Canadian cooperative United Farmers of Alberta, will temporarily close March 11th for remodeling and restocking, and will re-open as Sportsman’s Warehouse locations later in March.
John Schaefer, Sportsman’s Warehouse CEO said “This acquisition is in line with our business plan, promoting stable growth that will benefit our company, our vendors, and most importantly, our loyal customers. It is also a direct reflection of our corporate vision, which in part states, ‘we will provide enthusiasts with the Sportsman’s Warehouse experience by expanding our reach in current markets, as well as new markets focused in the Western United States.”
I spoke with Northwest District Manager Travis Mann: “Apparently business is good and why are you expanding? Our business has been very good and this expansion is unique in that Sportsman’s Warehouse has purchased the stores that were Wholesale Sports across the Northwest. Originally those stores were ours back in 2009. As we have continued to move forward and grow they have not necessarily. So that gave us the opportunity to buy those stores back and come back to these markets that we are very familiar with and we are very excited about it.”
