3-15 SS Antelope Fence
Antelope crossing a fence. Professional Hunter guide and photographer Mike Eastman captured some antelope in a photograph that won him an award… Make that well deserved award. “ People do comment on my photos but I am not a real good mechanical photographer but what I am good at is that I know behavior really well. It snowed on 15 October really heavily and I was going down to do some hunting in the other side of the state but I knew that when it snowed like this in this particular area, All of these antelope come out of the app Absorkee country and funnel into this one spot and most of them crawl under these barbed wire fences can then have to cross a well travelled road from 2 big towns to get down into their wintering grounds. It is hard for them to do that. I knew they were going to be there so I got everything ready and there were hundreds and hundreds of antelope trying to get through that one spot in that fence. 90% of antelope will crawl under the fence but I was able to get a photo of several bucks jumping the fence. They have this one section of their wildlife photography contest which is man made barriers to wildlife. I figured I had a chance at this with this photo because obviously a barb wire fence is a barrier to their migration.
