2-1 SS Grouse/Bow
An interesting way to hunt sage hens.
Hunters are defined as much by their individual personalities and particular choices in equipment as they are by what they choose to hunt. For example if you go upland bird hunting, you probably will select a shotgun from your array of firearms and then it’s which one….anywhere from a 12 gauge to a 410…and that choice sometimes says something about how good the shooter is. Well, regular guest Randy King hunts sage hens and selects from his line-up of bows. Yup you heard it right. “If you are going out just for Sage, it is a bang or bust moment and you have to make sure that you don’t get too heavy with the shot gun. I am actually taking my re-curve and my dog out. I am going to try and get my dog to flush one out and I will shoot my bow at it. Our of the air sage hen, they are about the size of a goose.”
