1-31 SS Eastman's Zeiss

Thorough research is what the good folks at Eastman’s Hunting Journals are doing for  you members of the hunting community.

I recently had a conversation with Eastman’s Hunting Journals Guy Eastman. Talk about taking one for the team, he and his brother visited the factory in Germany where Zeiss Optics are produced and he has a report for each and every one of you. “We just turned from a trip to Germany, my  brother Ike and I went and toured the Zeiss optics plant and learned a lot about their optics. Saw some of the up and coming products that are going to be released in 2013 and 2014, so we got a sneak preview and it is some incredible stuff. They have a pair of binoculars coming out that have a 95% light transmission figure which is basically how much light goes through the binoculars. As that light travels through the  binoculars it is only losing 5% of its intensity which is incredible. 20 years ago, light transmission was around 78% to 81%. To have 95% is incredible and almost as good as your eye. Also some of the rifle scope technology that they have is outstanding. They are also coming out with a more economical line where you can get a pair of binoculars that are in the $400 range and a rifle scope in the $200-$300 range that is produced by a German optics company which up until now has been unheard of.
