Banquet Gets Chef

Banquet Gets Chef

Banquet Gets Chef. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Fruit Grower Report.

One thing is for sure...it is meeting time in the ag industry and that can mean a lot of banquet food. Sometimes that is not really a great deal but the Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers is raising the bar. Lacy Gray has more on the story.

GRAY: Chef Dan Thiessen, has been selected as the Guest Chef for WAWGG annual industry banquet. Thiessen will develop and coordinate his menu with the help of Walla Wall Community College culinary students for the annual meeting. Thiessen has worked kitchens in Aspen, Switzerland, and Idaho.  His local credits include opening Instructor at the Art Institute of Seattle for 3 years as well as Executive Chef at The Space Needle, Golf Club at Newcastle, Chandler’s Crabhouse, Corporate Chef of Salty’s Restaurants, and Chef/Owner of the 0/8 Seafood Grill and Twisted Cork Wine Bar. has been featured in local, regional and national publications for quotes, recipes, industry insights and tips, throughout his career. He has also made television appearances and hosted his own radio cooking show.

Thanks Lacy. WAWGG’s annual meeting is again being held at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick and will feature meetings, convention and the trade show. For more information visit their website at wawgg.org.
