Wine Grape Convention

Wine Grape Convention

Wine Grape Convention. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Fruit Grower Report.

The Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers has announced their annual 4-day convention. The meeting is slated for February 5 through 8th again at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick. Lacy Gray has more.

GRAY: This years meeting will once again be a great source for wine grape growers and vintners from all across the northwest. Topics will range from management and ethics to risks. A three-part industry short course explores a Year in the Life of a Grape Vine.  Attendees will learn how to devise a basic management calendar for both the vineyard and winery and what tools exist to help. The entire event is open to those interested in the growing of wine grapes or making of wine. In addition to a two-day trade show featuring up to 180 booths, each day, the convention program examines a multitude of topics that ultimately address how to produce quality.

Thanks Lacy. Another important session will be on Immigration Reform and How it’s Driving Mechanization and will begin with an understanding of the impact of the Dream Act, but the main focus will be to explore technology and where it does and doesn’t work. Registration for the convention will open in December and of course you will be able to register on their website at www.wawgg.org
