New Farm Tools & Late Season Heat

New Farm Tools & Late Season Heat. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Northwest Report.

Ag producers are always on the lookout for tools to help them do a better job and the Dekalb company is delivering. The tools include a suite of mobile applications that deliver commodities, weather radar maps, exclusive agronomic information, industry news, grain elevator pricing and more to farmers’ tablets and smartphones. They are available at agToolCenter dot com (http://agToolCenter.com), the Apple App store or the Google Play store.

Well the weather here in the northwest seems to be moderating nicely and harvests are continuing but USDA meteorologist, Brad Rippey, says more late season heat has developed across northern portions of the Rockies and Plains.

RIPPEY: Eventually it does look like Isaac’s remnants will curl northeastward across the midwest and northeast putting to an end some of this late season heat but if you look ahead even further it does look like generally warm conditions will follow Isaac and we will continue to see warm weather well into September this year. A warm finish. That’s good for summer crop dry down in many areas but it does continue to place stress on pastures and rangelands that could really use some moisture, especially across the central and northern plains and into the upper midwest.

Now here’s today’s Washington Grange report.
