8-31 FB Glanbia Awards
Congratulations to the following Glanbia Scholarship recipients for 2012-2013. The Selection Committee chose these two high school seniors based on their academic record, an essay as well as their extra-curricular activities, work experience, and leadership skills. Each will receive a $2,500 scholarship to continue their education.
Case Southfield of Southfield Dairy in Wendell, Idaho, graduated with the class of 2012 with a 3.91 GPA. Case plans to study Physics on the Premed track at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. Here is what he said in accepting his award: “My parents have done so much for me growing up that I will probably never be able to repay them. The least I can do is get an education that will lead to a career that will make them proud.”
Luke Visser of Big Sky Dairies in Gooding, Idaho, graduated with the class of 2012 from Wendell High School. Luke finished high school with a 4.00 GPA and plans to study engineering at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Here is what Luke said in accepting his award: “I think that the dairy business nowadays is complicated and having an education with a business background would be very important.”
Glanbia spokesperson Whitney Beem: “it was chosen by a committee but they were very impressed with these students thankfulness to their parents and where they grew up.”
