 Tradewinds Charters located out of Depot Bay, Oregon has a fleet of 10 fishing boats that specialize in bottom fishing for seasoned anglers and  novices alike. They specialize in family fishing which is an activity that is certain to bring families closer. Getting out on the water for a  fun day filled with adventure has to be a terrific bonding experience. Here’s Noelie Achen  to tell us about what to expect of a day on the waters of Depot Bay. “on our typical bottom fishing trips you’re going for sea bass, ling cod, Cabazon, these are all varieties of white meated rockfish so for people who are not familiar with those types of fish like when you go to the grocery store and you see Pacific snapper or red snapper in the seafood case. It’s all those types of fish and of course ling cod, most people know what ling cod is, it is what most restaurants use for fish and chips. So not only are you getting the excitement of fishing but you’re also going to end up with some pretty good eating. Oh yes, very good eating, and with the bottom fishing trip, what’s cool about them is that you have the option of adding crabbing onto them. What that means is on the way out they drop crab pots. Then you go on to fish and when you come back you pick them up and the crab is divided up evenly with everybody that was crabbing that chose that option. So for 15 bucks more per person, you can go home with a bunch of Dungeness crab.
