 Duck hunting in Argentina. Now why would you go all that distance?

 John Wiles who calls himself Big John does a lot of outfitting that puts bird hunters in a place where they want to be. An outfitters job is to make dreams come true and big John certainly achieves that goal for his clients when he sends them to Argentina duck hunting. “The wonderful thing about duck hunting in Argentina is that the seasons there are opposite of ours. You start duck hunting in May and ends in early August. That is their wintertime so you can leave the heat and humidity of the United States and go to a place where you can wear your duck hunting jacket and enjoy crisp mornings and you can shoot 25 ducks which is your limit, so 2 guys in a blind can shoot 50 ducks which would be unheard of in this country. It is pretty exceptional shooting because no one there really hunts ducks other than Americans. When you say 2 guys can shoot 50 ducks, John, that means that there are a lot of ducks. Not only do they see a lot of ducks but it is an incredible duck growing area, the Santa Fe area where we hunt is big rice country. It is much like you would think of in Arkansas or the Mississippi Delta. It’s big rice country and there are incredible numbers of ducks and at that point the Paraneau River is approximately 30 miles wide with the various estuaries so it is quite a duck paradise, that whole area there.
