4-17 IAN U of I Ag's
Yet another reason why ag people are good people. I had a chat with Bill Loftus, spokesperson for the University of Idaho’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and he told me what some of his students did over spring break. It didn’t involve bikinis and getting drunk. “These are college students. They are looking for jobs and internships. It was basically a job and internship program for them. They were out looking for potential employers. It was run like a class that is how they spent their spring break. You mean rather than going down to Florida and getting drunk on the beach? Yes imagine that what a concept. They went south from Moscow to southern Idaho and they were beating the path for a job. They went to Clear Springs Foods in Twin Falls, they went to dairies, potato processing plants, the Anheuser Busch malt plant, and they basically paid their own way. It was a very interesting exercise in thinking ahead and we had students all the way from freshmen to seniors. Were these kids from University of Idaho’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences? 17out of 18 were from our program.
