 Tracking wolves with radio telemetry reveals the truth concerning whether or not they prey on ranchers. Not long ago I had a conversation with Oregon rancher Todd Nash concerning how we are able to manage our own Wolf population here in Idaho. He had a political statement.  “I am willing to trade governors if that is what you are trying to negotiate here. But OR 7 last spring on May 1 killed one of my calves or at least was part of the pack that did kill one of my calves and that has been swept under the rug. How do you know that it was OR 7 that killed your calf? Because his telemetry puts him at the scene at the time that calf was killed. We also have him chasing one of my neighbors cows through a fence. They actually heard it going on and were able to intervene. They had his telemetry at that site. But the calf of mine on the1st of  May, that was confirmed by US Fish and Wildlife.
