1-11 IAN Wheat Genie

Recently chatted with Cathy Wilson who is the Director of Research Collaboration at the Idaho Wheat Commission and talk about someone who is qualified… oh my gosh, listen.

“I am Director of Research Collaboration. I was on board for a couple of weeks before we decided what we were going to call my position. Research collaboration was chosen to indicate a direction and emphasis. I grew up in Twin Falls as the daughter of a seed field man. I grew up  bouncing around in the back of a pickup truck. I have been in the seed business for many, many years, graduated from Boise State with a degree in biology, then I went up to the University of Idaho and worked on seed borne pathogens of onions, got my Masters degree in plant pathology and then I went to work as a plant breeder for a seed company working on processing tomatoes and short day onions, I was the worldwide manager of a company that worked on processing tomato development and then I went and did my PhD in Plant molecular genetics at New Mexico State University and then I opened up a research station for a Dutch company.”Gee, Kathy is that all? Why don’t you get some experience?
