12-27 SS Deer & Cherries

 Cougar chases game away and leaves only cherry seeds. There is a mystery I will let you ponder for a second. I ran into an interesting guy by the name of Dave Engle and he had quite the interesting tale to tell about his orchard. I grew up in Lake Chelan and we have very hilly property and you have orchards or 5 or 10 acres up on a bench and then you have a lot of brush around the area, thickets, we had a situation where we had a bunch of white tailed deer who got into a thicket and all year we were seeing them, some really beautiful bucks, were in there and had a bear who was also in the thicket and he would come out when the cherries were ripe and he would eat the flesh off the cherries and leave the seeds on the stem. Just before the hunting season a cougar moved into the area, probably interested in the deer and they all left the area except for the cougar. Quite fun and interesting for all the workers to see because they were seeing either the bear or the deer every day. You are saying all that was left was the cougar but I would say all that was left was the cougar and the cherry seeds. Yes and those are difficult to sell.
