Lutz's Lessons
Farm and Ranch Report November 9, 2011 In an effort to better inform industry members and extract even more value from its investment in retail sales data, the U.S. Potato Board has a new feature on the USPB Resource Center. Potato Board consultant Don Ladhoff says its called Lutz’ Lessons. Ladhoff: “Lutz’ Lessons is a quarterly video recap about three or four minutes in length of the top retail sales trends in the potato industry. It is something we make available by posting on the US Potato Board‘s Resource Center and it is hosted by Steve Lutz who is the Executive Vice President of Perishables Group and widely acknowledged as a produce industry expert.” Ladhoff says it’s hoped that once industry members have their appetite wetted by Lutz they will want to learn more and will check out the Performance tab at the Resource Center where; Ladhoff: “They will find monthly sales data on the top 45 retail markets as well as the total U.S. where they can look at dollar and volume sales, trends and distribution measures. The net result is a potato industry member, a grower, a shipper, that is more informed, better equipped to make more profitable marketing decisions, and brings more value to the relationship with the retailers that they do business with.” Third quarter sales data are in so there will be a new Lutz’ Lesson on uspotatoes.com soon. The third edition of Lutz’ Lessons will be on uspotatoes.com very soon as third quarter sales data are now in. That’s the U.S. Potato Update. Brought to you by the United States Potato Board, maximizing return on grower investment. I’m Bob Hoff for Northwest Aginfo Net.
