Welcome to Open Range, I’m Susan Allen. Stay tuned because after the break I’ll check in with our field reporter, Greg Martin for the AgriBeef Minute.

I’m Greg Martin with today’s AgriBeef Minute. Cattle ranchers in Brazil have some of the largest herds in the world and a colorful lifestyle as well. Renata Stephens grew up on one such ranch and now she leads tours to her home.

STEPHENS: The tour shows all the production sectors of Brazil’s beef industry from small to big family operated ranches to genetic seedstocks, commercial ranches so basically from genetics to the finished product.

She says it’s a completely different scenario down in Brazil.

STEPHENS: We also see an auction. We visit a research center where they give us an overview of the Brazilian beef industry from a government perspective and then we also visit with cattlemen’s association affiliates who talk about the industry from a private sector perspective as producers.

The tour is in conjunction with Beef magazine and Stephens says the deadline is here.

STEPHENS: Our deadline for the tour is Friday, November 4th so hurry and get your seats.

Go to brazilianliaison.com for details. I’m Greg Martin and that’s today’s AgriBeef Minute.

Thanks Greg. Don’t forget Greg will be back each Wednesday with the AgriBeef Minute. Agri Beef Co - Real Families, Great People, Exceptional Beef. I’m Susan Allen.
