Beef Board CEO reprimanded

Washington Ag Today June 14, 2011 The Cattlemen’s Beef Board Executive Committee has disciplined its Chief Executive Officer Tom Ramey for eavesdropping on conference calls organized by the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.

Beef Board Chairman Tom Jones;

Jones: “The Executive Committee…..and a reprimand.” 13

Jones says he and immediate past chairman Dan Dierschke issued written apologies for having known about Ramey’s plans and not stopping him. The trio were cleared of charges of aggressive lobbying of USDA, insubordination and leaking confidential documents.

The Cattlemen’s Beef Board administers the national beef check off to which Washington cattlemen contribute.

Now the Stockland Livestock Report.

This is Jack McQuinness here at Stockland Livestock in Davenport. Right at 700 cattle on the market. Most of them weigh up cows and bulls. Some new faces on the seats and a stronger market. Most of the cows traded in the high 60s low 70s with the better end of the cows in the high 70s and low 80s. Bulls topped at 96 dollars and most of that trade in high 80s low 90s. Not enough feeder cattle for a true test but lot’s of demand for the grass type cattle as there always has been. Pairs, we split most of those pairs to bring more money split than they would be calf-pairs. We will have a sale next week. The last sale of June will be the 27th and then we will take the 4th of July off. That’s Stockland Livestock in Davenport. Thanks for listening.

Thanks Jack.
