International Wolf Prize recipient to be honored at WSU
Washington Ag Today April 28, 2011 International Wolf Prize for Agriculture recipient for 2011 and emeritus professor James Cook will be honored by the Washington State University community next week. WSU President Elson Floyd will host a reception Thursday, May 5th at the Lewis Alumni Centre Great Room from 5 to 6:30 pm. A former dean in the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences, Cook is globally renowned for his leadership in the field of biological control of plant diseases. The Wolf Prize recognizes outstanding scientists and artists worldwide “for achievements in the interest of mankind and friendly relations among people. Now this from Stockland Livestock. “This is Jack McQuinness at Stockland Livestock in Davenport. We ended up with over 600 cattle at our sale here Monday. Cow sale was two to three off. USDA called it three to four, we said two to three. Still a real good market for those weigh up cows and bulls. Bulls topped a $1.05 The best cows still into the high 70s low 80s. Feeder cattle fully steady. Lot of small local consignments. Special feeder and stocker sale next Monday. We have a lot of calves on the books. We will cow-calf pairs.
