Crop insurance deadline for nursery growers

Crop insurance deadline for nursery growers

Washington Ag Today April 5, 2011 USDA’s Risk Management Agency is reminding Pacific Northwest nursery growers that Monday, May 2nd is the sales closing date for 2012 Nursery Multi-Peril Crop Insurance coverage.

The insurance provides protection for wholesale nurseries producing and marketing nursery plants grown in standard nursery containers or in the field.

Current nursery policyholders may request changes in coverage and/or obtain the Pilot Nursery Grower’s Price Endorsement prior to the May 2nd sales closing deadline. New policy applications can be filed at any time but all applications, including those for new or amended coverage, are subject to a 30-day waiting period before commencement of coverage.

Now the report from Stockland Livestock.

“This is Jack McQuiness with Stockland Livestock in Davenport. 11-hundred cattle on the market here this week. Good strong sale. Feeder cattle fully steady. Cows and bulls two to three higher. Lots of cows back into the mid 80’s. Had a big, heavy beef bull bringing $1.03 to top the market. Most of the shorter term bred cows 12-hundred to 1350. Good active sale. Looking forward to another good sale next Monday and we will have a big special coming up the following Monday. That is all coming up here at Stockland Livestock. Thanks for listening.

Thanks Jack.
