4-1 FB USA Tractors

Imagine this. Agricultural equipment is actually being manufactured, and it’s not outsourced to China. Let me say this in the boldest of terms. Agricultural equipment is actually going to be manufactured in America. I’m David Sparks and I can’t wait to tell you about this new development when I return.

I can’t tell you how much time I have spent recently talking to people in Manila or someplace in India. These are customer service representatives for American products. What? Yup. If you want to know how something you bought here in America works, you call an 800 number and get somebody to explain it to you in broken English. Well a company called AGCO is trying to bring jobs back to America. The company has announced Massey Ferguson and Challenger high horsepower rowcrop tractors for the North American market will soon be built in North America. Here is Bob Crain - Senior Vice President and General Manager for AGCO  “It’s something that our dealers and customers have been waiting on for many years. That is, to bring wheeled tractor production back to America is going to send a very strong signal to our dealers and our customers that we are very serious about the wheeled tractor business and the agriculture business in North America”

Tractors ranging from 200 to 275 horsepower will be rolling off the assembly line in Jackson, Minnesota as early as December 2011.
