WCA Bull Test Sale next week
Washington Ag Today March 15, 2011 The 18th Annual Washington Cattlemen’s Association sponsored WCA Bull Test Sale is coming up next Wednesday, March 23rd. The test was moved to the Bonina Feed and Sale Facility at Eltopia, Washington and that is where the sale will be. There were 138 bulls on test this year and the top 75 percent of them will sell. On March 22nd a social hour and forum, hosted by the WCA, will be conducted at 4:00 pm with featured speakers on topics of interest to the cattle industry. On sale day, the 23rd, a trade show opens with booths and presentations and a complimentary tri-tip barbeque lunch will also be held at the trade show. All of the events are free. Now this from Stockland Livestock. This is Jack McQuiness with Stockland Livestock here in Davenport. On sale this week 350 head of cattle on our market. A lighter run. Cow market a couple, three dollars lower. Still most of the cows in the 70-dollar money. Some of the low grade cows in the 60s. Bulls topped at 95. That is a couple dollars lower but really not a good selection as we have had in the past. Feeder cattle, limited test on any weight and class but plenty of demand all the way around. Next week a special feeder sale. Looking at some bred cows. We’ve got some cow-calf pairs and good numbers of feeder cattle. That’s Stockland Livestock. Call us any time or visit our website
