The Horse Whisper movement that eventually evolved into natural horsemanship techniques changed forever how the typical horse in America is handled. In it’s wake and well supported by the Beef  industry comes low stress cattle handling and the clinician paving the way is  Montana cowboy Curt Pate.  Stay tuned after the break. Renowned horseman/stockman Curte Pate  is on a mission to change how cattle in the U.S.  are handled. Using live cattle –handling demonstrations at clinics throughout the country he teaches the best methods on how  to doctor, gather or sort cattle that minimizes animal stress, saves time plus  horse power and enhances cattle productivity. Pate also believes that consumers need to be reassured American  cattle are humanly handled in order to increase consumer confidence in beef. The Idaho Beef Quality Assurance program is bringing  Pate's Stockmanship and Stewardship Cattle Handling Seminar to the Northwest for four days  through April 13th and 16th . The sessions last from 4:00 to 8:00 and will be held  in Lewiston, Homedale, Twin Falls and Blackfoot. The clinic will cover both ground work techniques to use when handling cattle in pens and alleys, then move to doctoring  and conclude with ways to properly work cattle horse back. The best part is that it’s all free courtesy of University of Idaho Extension  and if you call and register you’ll get a meal as well.  For more information contact the U of I’s  Beef Extension Service or the following links www.uiadho.edu/extension/beefjackie@uiadho.edu or  Jackie at 208 454-7654 Curt Pate web site is www.effectivestockmanship.com
