FSA County Committee voting: Stockland report

Washington Ag Today November 2, 2010 The deadline for farmers and ranchers to directly affect the makeup of their Farm Service Agency county committees is almost here. Judy Olson, State Executive Director for the Farm Services Agency, says ballots will have been mailed by November 5th to eligible voters statewide. Producers have until December 6th to return the ballots.

The three-to-five person committees are the place that producers can appeal most agency decisions. The committees meet about once a month.

Eligible voters who do not receive a ballot are urged to contact their local FSA office.

Newly elected committee members begin their term January 1st of 2011.

Now here is Jack McQuiness with the report from Stockland Livestock Auction in Davenport, Washington.
