Vilsack Discusses Trade. I'm Greg Martin, this is Market Line. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack wanted to talk trade on Friday and in particular a new 5-part plan to improve trade. VILSACK: Agriculture has been one of the bright spots in terms of trade. We have a fairly robust surplus but we want to build on that, about $22-billion dollar surplus last year. What we want to do is to continue to build on that. To do that we need a new approach as part of the President's National Export Incentive Initiative. Vilsack commented that 2010 could end up being the second largest trade year in excess of $100-billion dollars. Checking on the markets...On Friday Chicago May corn down 7 ½ at 3-75 ½. May wheat was down 8 ¾ at 4-93 ½ . Portland soft white wheat mostly 4-60. New crop August soft white unchanged at 4-60 to 4-7. Only new crop August bids on HRW 11.5 % protein 5-45 to 5-56 dn 7. DNS 14% protein 6-14 to 6-34 dn 8. April live cattle dn 75 at 92-95. April feeders up 1 at 105-23. April Class III milk up 2 at 12-89.
