Rice to Haiti
Farmers’ generosity overwhelming as usual. I’m David Sparks and I’ll have that story in a minute. You know how I feel by now about what farmers and ranchers do for our country and if you’ve been to the web site aginfo.net, you’ve seen some of my editorial opinions regarding Agtivism and how the ag world is put in a constant position of having to defend it’s practices by the enviro-critics. Let’s be frank…farmers and ranchers are feeding the country and much of the world.
Now comes the Haiti crisis…who stands up? Environmental lawyers? No farmers! Louisiana rice farmers have donated several tons of rice for earthquake ravaged Haiti. Jamie Warshaw is Chairman of the USA Rice Federation and CEO of Farmers Rice Milling Company in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Warshaw says the rice should be on its way by this weekend. Haiti has always been a good customer of the U.S. rice industry. This - he says - is a good chance to show them compassion - helping them when they're in need.?
