Holiday Entertaining

Holiday Entertaining

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran. We are fully into the holiday season and if you are thinking about having a holiday open house I have a few ideas for you to consider.

This year I am thinking of doing a Brunch for my Open House. I like the idea of not competing with other functions and being done by mid afternoon rather than midnight. Plus, there are so many delicious sparkling wine cocktails to serve along with the bloody mary’s and coffee drinks. You can bake the eggs, the French toast, the bread pudding and the muffins all ahead of time! Another form of entertaining that appeals to me is a Happy Hour Open House again there are so many spiced wine cocktails, shaken or stirred I like the icy cold ginger and lime white wine cocktails myself, and the bubbly wine cocktails are smart. You just invite folks to stop by on their way home from work, you serve heavy appetizers and with luck you are all cleaned up by 8:00! Heck you could save the clean up for later  - lock up - and hit someone else’s party that night. Or why not invite a few close friends for Sunday Supper starting early and having something very seasonal for dinner topped off with figgy pudding and some fabulous dessert wine. Speaking of dessert, have a late night party serving dessert wines and dessert. I am thinking there are so many creative ways to host a holiday bash, why limit yourself to Saturday night? Remember to send your wine questions to linda at vine to wine dot net and thank you for joining me on today’s Vine to Wine.
