Holidays in Wine Country

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran. Every year at this time I encourage you to visit wine country because believe it or not, now is a great time to visit.

It may be cold out and the vineyards are fast asleep but it doesn’t mean that the wineries are in hibernation – far from it. In fact the winemaking process is in full swing with fermentation from the past harvest completing and aging beginning. Plus Wine Country happens to be very good at celebrating the holidays with many special events and of course lots of wines to taste! Often wineries will pair up with restaurants in the area putting together special dinners and celebrations. I recommend that you visit the websites connected with the wine region you have interest in visiting and find out just what is happening and when.  Here in the state of Washington try the googling Washington Wine Country or Walla Walla Wine news or visit the Wine Yakima Valley website. Many websites have information and links to places to stay and eat on your visit to wine country. Plus what a great way to get together with a group of friends – rent a limo and tour wine country in comfort and style. Plan ahead and visit wineries with interesting gift shops or specialty cheese shops and you will probably be able to get quite a bit of your grown up gift shopping done.
