Hunting Fees May Go Up & Dairy Recovery

Hunting Fees May Go Up & Dairy Recovery. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Northwest Report.

If you travel to Idaho to do a little hunting, it may soon cost you a bit more. The House Resources Committee approved a measure to boost fees for out-of-state hunters and anglers, a measure that's already cleared the Senate. The panel voted 13-5 Tuesday to raise revenue at the Idaho Department of Fish and Game by $2.55 million annually. The agency says it needs additional money to continue existing services for hunters, anglers and other outdoor enthusiasts.

Dairy prices are starting to see some recovery according to USDA Chief Economist, Joe Glauber.

GLAUBER: We’ve seen some improvement in product prices over the last few weeks. Dairy prices were so low and now were calling for a slight increase in the overall all milk price this year and again that is reflecting the fact that product prices are higher. We’re forecasting lower net removals. That is fewer pounds of nonfat dry milk going into CCC and so that is a positive I think for the dairy market at least.

Now here’s today’s Washington Grange Report.
