01/05/09 The historic west on line

I'm Jeff Keane, Hey, if you enjoy old western photographs and art stay tuned after a quick commercial break I'll be back to tell you about a new on-line resource. And it's free ! &The ability to access some of the most famous historic Western photographs, is now just a click away here is Susan Allen with the story. Jeff I can remember like it was yesterday standing in complete awe, speechless before the real deal"& a series of Charles Russell paintings at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. You speechless&I'll be kind. Ha.. Actually it was a sensory overload, touring that amazing museum and realizing every turn held another fascinating piece of history. I didn't have time nor energy to take it all in. Today our listens don't have to travel from home to take my museum tour. More than three hundred thousand western images have been digitized for online viewing through the Buffalo Bill museum's research library's digital collection at bbhc.org. That site also features archived material, letters and memorabilia chronicling Buffalo Bills fascinating life. But Jeff, the best part about this new online resource is that I can finally tour of all five of the museums in Cody at my leisure. Susan we should also tell our listeners that reproductions of the historic photos can be purchased for framing. A great way to spruce up the homestead I'm Jeff Keane.
